We finally made it to the new Galveston farmers market we’ve
been hearing so much about. Very interesting – with lots of enthusiasm among
venders and shoppers. Products ranged from locally produced honey to a variety
of fruits and vegetables. There were also fresh eggs, cheeses and other unique food items.
All very cool.
We came home with some very handsome butternut squash (with
the intension of making homemade soup) sweet potatoes and some pumpkin humus. All very reasonably priced.
We left before the entertainment began but it looked like
there was going to be some live music.
Located on Post Office (Ave. E), behind the Antique
Warehouse (25th) and across from Debroah’s Garden. The market is
held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am. Probably a good idea to get there early if
you want the best selection.
