If you haven't been to the Seawall lately there are some interesting new additions. First off - the big stuff.
The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier is taking shape and it's becoming apparent that it's going to be a pretty big deal. It could be a really cool thing OR it could ruin our Seawall access. Only time will tell.
Next - the new park at Fort Crockett is completed and offers a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. This pic really doesn't do it justice.
In the same Fort Crockett area there are now more totems than ever. They're almost like a sea of stalagmites. Kind of funny. Perhaps the 2 most popular tourist attractions in G-ton are the tree carvings (stumps) and the totems (rocks). Who'd a thunk it???
And lastly, Artist Boat and Kipp Costal Village have teamed up to create some really cool new seating areas between 25th and 35th. These tile mosaic benches are hand painted by kindergarten/1st graders and depict all kinds of mammals, fish and birds. There are also some nice medallions on each bench that match those at Ft. Crockett.
No doubt about it. The Seawall just keeps getting better all the time.
