Community Beautification and Economic Development

Over the next few weeks/months, the Galveston Gardening Blog will be moving in a new direction. I’ll be incorporating LIVE video broadcasts, focusing on topics of importance to our area. These broadcasts will feature knowledgeable experts, providing their views and opinions in an interview format.

In the first of these broadcasts, Dr. Charlie Hall, Professor in the Department of Horticultural Sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX AND holder of the Ellison Chair in International Floriculture, will discuss the relationship between Community Beautification and Economic Development. This is an important topic for Galveston as we continue to recover from Hurricane Ike and its devastating effects on the island landscape.
