ORNAMENTAL & PERENNIAL PLANT PREVIEW & SALE

This is one of my favorite times of year. There are a few breaks in summer temperatures, a little rain once in awhile AND the annual Ornamental and Perennial Preview and Plant Sale. Last fall was kind of a crap shoot given the lack of rain and relentless heat. But this fall is a different story and may be one of the best in a long time to get new plants established in the landscape.

The Preview and Sale are sponsored by the Galveston County Master Gardeners. Dr. J and his army of MG'ers will be on hand to make this a spectacular event. BUT be sure to get there early because it is generally a quick sell out!!! The annual Ornamental and Perennial Plant Sale offers a variety of plants suitable for Galveston County including heat-tolerant perennials, shade-loving plants, tropicals, gingers, plants for butterfly or hummingbird gardens, and hard-to-find varieties... especially hardy ones! The sale will be held in the parking lot next to the Wayne Johnson Community Center in Carbide Park, 4102 Main Street (FM 519). La Marque, Texas 77568.
