Cajun Hibiscus...

Several years ago,  I taught horticulture at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana Lafayette, U-La-La), Back then I had the opportunity to work with the Duponts from Plaquemine, LA. That was a long time ago but they still operate one of the more unique greenhouse/nurseries in the US. Their specialty - the Cajun Hibiscus. These things are amazing and like most Cajuns, they stand out in a crowd.

Cajun Hibiscus have been somewhat difficult to find in local retail nurseries - BUT now my friend Chris and his brother are offering a broad selection of Cajun Hibiscus, on-line, from their website BigBadFlower.com. With as many transplanted Cajuns as we now have in Galveston I have a hunch these could be very popular.

Oh - BTW, check out this video from the BigBadFlower website...
